Will Baby Yoda Get a Lightsaber?
Star Wars wouldn't be complete at all without the lightsabers. A lightsaber is a legendary Jedi weapon. In the final scene in season one, we saw Moff Gideonm, an imperial security officer, ignited a black-bladed lightsaber. And it's the darksaber, The Mandalorian most prized weapon.
Fans are now anticipating an old-fashioned lightsaber and darksaber duel in the series.
On the other side, the Darksaber was made by a man called Tarre Vizsla who was the first Mandalorian to become a Jedi Knight. It happened in The Age of the Republic that was centuries before The Phantom Menace.
The darksaber was locked away in a Jedi Temple when Vizla died until some members of his house stole it. From there on, the darksaber symbolized power and considered The Mandalorian most prized weapon as whoever holds it could unite all of Mandalore.
A war broke out between The Mandalorians and Jedi, and they were divided since then.
Fans saw in Star Wars, The Clone of Wars that the darksaber was handed down to all leaders of House of Vizla, and it had a history of being held by these characters. From Death Watch, Darth Maul, Emperor Palpatine, Sabine, Bo-Katan Kryze, and now to Moff Gideon.
It would be known in season 2 how Gideon got hold of it. But others are forecasting that Baby Yoda would be its rightful owner in the end.
As for the lightsaber?
The Mandalorian took place six years after the Empire fell. There might be a scarcity of any Jedi left, and it's known that The Mandalorian don't like the Jedi and their lightsaber at all. They would prefer that other weapons be used.
In the time setting of The Mandalorian, the Jedi might be into hiding or extinct. We just don't know that there might be some Jedi that might suddenly pop out in the series. Baby Yoda has the Force, but as to when he'll get his lightsaber or a darksaber instead?
And who would train Baby Yoda? As we all know that there is no Jedi academy anymore. But the fans are hoping that somehow Baby Yoda in some twists and surprises might tie up in some sequels of Star Wars.
Another possibility is Luke Skywalker might feel that Baby Yoda is Force-sensitive and would let him join in the New Jedi Order. We are aware that from The Force Awakens to The Rise of Skywalker that Luke had built a new Jedi Order and was the one training them.
The Mandalorians and the Jedi have a very unstable and complicated relationship between them. There were times when they had been enemies, as seen in the Mandalorian Wars, and there are times when they were allies like in KOTOR 2.
